3 Kids....What????

So we have now moved from man to man defense to zone.  I am not saying it is easy by any means, but it helps having the older two a little older and somewhat independent.  It's also been an interesting transition to having an infant again...we really started over!! I remember my sister in law, Kinsey, asking me when I was pregnant what we needed for the baby and I told her we needed everything... and we did! We had gotten rid of everything baby since we hadn't planned on any more.

Having a baby again is almost like riding a bike in the sense that we have remembered most of the important stuff. :)  Our first whoopsie was on Christmas day, when we had gone to my parents for our first family Christmas. I was holding Carson on the couch during present time and we were in the corner of the room.  Toward the end of all the kids opening (there were 8 kids) Carson started getting fussy, so I stood with him to do the baby bounce and sway. I was also going to plug him up.  We call the pacifier a "plug", but at that moment I could not find his plug.  We searched around the little area where we had been sitting, pulled up couch cushions, moved gifts around, moved wrapping paper all the while little Carson kept getting more and more mad.  We could not find his plug anywhere and it was a mystery to me because I had not moved from that little spot the entire time.  The next step was going through the garbage bags of wrapping paper.  During all the digging my brother, Joey, said, "You would think with this being her third kid she would have packed an extra."  He was right....you would think I would be prepared!!!  I kept using the phrase "6 years" because it had been 6 years since I had had a newborn!  Needless to say the first thing I did when we got home was pack an extra plug in the diaper bag!!

I know that it will probably happen again at some point...I will forget to pack something for someone.  But a great story to remember at Christmas time!

Another crazy moment happened when Kyle and I had to make a trip to the mall. We went when Drew and Blake were at school, so we only had Carson with us.  The crazy moment was unloading the STROLLER from the van and then pushing the STROLLER around the mall.  We kept repeating, "Oh my gosh...we are pushing a stroller around the mall."

Even today the little man is napping and it seems so surreal that we have a baby.  I cannot even imagine our lives without him now.  I am so thankful for him and for his awesome big brothers!!
